  • Burns
  • Pressure sores
  • Surgical wounds
  • Open abscesses
  • Traumatic injuries
  • Diabetic wounds
  • Vascular wounds

Your personalized treatment plan may include regular appointments, a home care plan, dressing change instructions, and injury prevention tips.

Your Treatment Program

On referral to the clinic, you will undergo a thorough diagnostic examination to identify the type of wound you have. We also will work to understand and deal with any underlying problems complicating the wound. As this evaluation continues, we will begin a program that is tailored to your needs and based on effective treatment options. When appropriate, our providers will ask other healthcare providers to help evaluate and treat your wound. The goal is a treatment regimen that offers the fastest route to wound healing.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy

Our West Burlington campus offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy for the treatment of some wounds. The word “hyperbaric” refers to a gas that is at greater pressure than normal. When patients breathe 100% oxygen inside one of our pressurized chambers, the increased level of oxygen in the blood, tissue, and body fluids enhances the body's ability to heal.

Multiple treatments are requires as outlined by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society.

Having a wound that won’t heal can be frustrating, painful, and worrisome. Our goal is to get to the root of the problem and come up with a treatment plan that works for you.
