Doing gentle exercises in our 92-degree therapy pool helps:
Reduce pain and muscle tension
Restore flexibility
Maintain normal joint movement
Balance is a program that helps older adults reduce their fear of falling and increase activity levels. This program is offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:15 am - 10:45 am.
Participants learn to:
View falls as controllable
Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
Exercise to increase strength and balance
Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase III helps improve strength, endurance, and wellness in people who have cardiac and pulmonary conditions. Participants who have completed Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Phase II exercise independently in the Wellness Gym at specific times while being monitored by fitness specialists. Heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation are checked before, during and after exercise. A physician’s referral is required.
Delay the Disease is a supervised exercise program for people with Parkinson's disease. Specific exercises, weight training and activity may delay physical symptoms of the disease. The program consists of a fitness specialist leading stretching and exercises. Staff will make changes in your workouts based on your improvement and limitations. This program is offered on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1:00 pm - 1:50 pm.
Parkinson Support Group is offered every 3rd Thursday of the month at 2:00 pm in the BlackHawk Room. Each session includes a new guest speaker who is an advocate or works specifically with the disease. This class is designed for those that have Parkinson's to come together with others in the community and surrounding area.
The Pilates Reformer is unlike other exercise equipment. Class participants can perform hundreds of exercises with springs and ropes on a movable carriage. Reformers work muscle groups through smooth, continuous motions that strengthen and stabilize the body's core and help develop a balanced musculoskeletal system. There is a fee for this class. Nonmembers may participate.
